The mechanical properties of the alloys of this series, which includes Cortal and Alubrown, are improved by the addition of magnesium, which is however kept below 5% during manufacturing so as to not affect the stability of the material.
\nThe alloys of the 5000 series also usually contain other additives (such as chromium, titanium, and manganese) to improve
\nother characteristics such as mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and weldability.
