Alloy Series 5000
The mechanical properties of the alloys of this series, which includes Cortal and Alubrown, are improved by the addition of magnesium, which is however kept below 5% during manufacturing so as to not affect the stability of the material.
The alloys of the 5000 series also usually contain other additives (such as chromium, titanium, and manganese) to improve
other characteristics such as mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and weldability.

Alloy Series 3000
The industrial alloys of the 3000 series, which includes Copperline and Bronze, contain 1 to 1.5% manganese. This element considerably improves the mechanical properties of aluminium.
Their minimum guaranteed strength is thus increased by 40-50 MPa without compromising their machinability.
